First night in Bangkok

Eerste dag in daglicht.

Translation:
Here a short translation for those who can't read Dutch, he Nok?
I arrived safely after a short walk alone through a very crowded road with only bars and music. The roads here, the food markets, the walking bridges (?), and a bit the people, reminds me of Indonesia! With the big billboards all around. So no shock when I came here... I had a delay with both of my flights and arrived 2 hours later than I expected..
I don't feel really alone (yet), so that's a good thing, I will experience how it is tomorrow. The hostel organizes also activities in groups, so I think I will join one.
And.... I got accepted in Leuven! So I can start in February with my bachelor Psychology! I read it an hour before we left Borne. So that's it for now, speak to you soon!

Packing and partying

This Monday we started the celebration of our 10 years society LIEF! With champagne and pink cake it was a  successful beginning of the week. At Wednesday we had a  great Cocktail party with Justin Strikes, the DJ, shots for 1 euro, helium balloons, sweet dresses, a lot of people who danced all the way till 4 o'clock. I had a good hangover the next day, so I decided not to do to much but sleeping, just being in my room, doing nothing, drink coffee, eat, and sleep again.
Today was my last day of working at the Geddes & Gillmore, it was quite crowded, a good day to quit. My colleges gave me a book 'René Appel - Weerzin' and a notebook to write down my adventures in Thailand! So sweet! Didn't expected something at all. Oh, and I bought a cheap suede jacket for only €25! I just couldn't resist to let it hang there alone..

Great that you are going to follow my big adventures in Thailand. I think I'll write in Dutch, it's much faster and easier. Here some pictures of LIEF.

Dancing all night long at the graduation reception of Noor!

One week left..

Normaly a week goes very fast and it feels like a half week instead. This time I expect it will feel like a day before I'll go to B to the angkok! Floods or not, I will go!
Last Thursday when I was asleep, I woke up in the middle of the night because of a scary scary nightmare. I can't remember the dream, but I was only thinking of all the things I had to do before I get in the plane. Worrying a lot and scared for all the risks. I could not remember why I want to go on my own! I assume that everyone has the same feeling before leaving.

Today was a great Sunday, I went for a drink (or 5) with Marlou to 'Twee Wezen'. For 4,5 hours we talked and the waitresses were wondering why we still were there. This evening I sang karaoke with my parents! Quite an experience.. And quite loud, don't hope the neighboors heard us. That would be sad for them or it would be just a big laugh! But still great to do! We sang Everly Brothers, Dutch songs, Carpenters, Beatles and so on.

Tomorrow is the big day! I'm going to move back, all my stuff are in boxes and my last week I sleep on a air mattress in an empty room. Very cosy! Pff.. I won't expect to sleep much, because my society LIEF is 10 years old and we are celebrating it this WHOLE week! Niceeee... Much of cocktaildressess, beer, a gala at a super deluxe location, food and much of sweet people to celebrate this week with! Can't wait! It will be absolutely smashing :D.

This was it for now. I think my next time will be in Bangkok.. Hope that I will be just fine. Just for the record, in Thailand it's 30 degrees, ghehe.
See you next time!

Leuven/Brussel 4-7 Nov.

This weekend I went to Brussels with Bas. The weather was perfect for a day of walking and act like a real tourist. So we took some pictures of buildings and whatever and from ourselves. We didn't had any map or other information about the big big city, but we just followed the signs through the centre to cute squares, Manneken Pis, some churches and a romantic garden of statues. I was reaaaally fond of the vintage shop I found along the way, it was kind of cheap, very organised and the people seemed young too (that helps right?). The only thing I was thinking was that I had to buy something, but afterwards I didn't because I hope to come back soon and Bas said they're looking for a assistant manager, so I can work there and shop at the same time, ghehe. Best combination ever. Just realising that I forgot to take a picture of that great clothing store, what a pity..
But not buying clothes means also that there is more money left for drinking special Belgian beer and eat a very good pasta with scampi's. I was sooo hungry, but I couldn't finish my plate.. I felt guilty, so Bas ate the rest of it. Nice, haha.

After a great day of being outside and act like a tourist, we slept for almost 12 hours and had a Sunday like they should be. Singing karaoke, doing nothing, but talking, eat, drink, the only things we had to do or wanted to do. Also the weather knew it was Sunday, haha.

When I came back from a small holiday, I first had a great dinner with my sweet friends and had a wine tasting at one of them at home!! I ordered 2 bottles of wine. Today I didn't have a headache and got back to work. After those boring hours I got back to the stress I will feel till I will leave the Netherlands, and maybe in Bangkok too.. Think of floods.. think of diseases, wow, not really a holiday right?

Here some pictures from Brussels and other pics. See the contrast in some of them. That's Brussels.

Look for Manneken Pis in this great crowd!

Leuven, the city I'm going to study.. Waaah

Great wine tasting with good food!
